Metro Crime Stoppers in Hattiesburg now includes Perry County

During times of tight budgets and competitiveness between some law enforcement agencies, south Mississippi law enforcement is choosing a collaborative approach to help fight crime. That effort was exemplified on Thursday, when Metro Crime Stoppers, based in Hattiesburg, welcomed the Perry County Sheriff s Office, the New Augusta Police and the Beaumont Police. Metro Crime Stoppers now includes Forrest, Lamar, Covington, Marion, Jefferson Davis and Perry counties. I think it s a benefit for Perry County to be a part of something that will hopefully entice the community to start calling in and making these anonymous calls to the Crime Stoppers, because I know it works, Perry County Sheriff Mitch Nobles said.
