During a regional meeting that was held by Solidarity Is Global Institute (SIGI), titled: “The Role of the Civil Society in Advancing the Implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women … Regional Experiences”, participants highlighted the need to document the regional experiences in this field and build a coalition to address the resolution and the lessons learned.

PSD receives advanced equipment from Germany By JT - Dec 23,2020 - Last updated at Dec 23,2020 AMMAN The Public Security Directorate (PSD) on Monday received advanced machinery and equipment from Germany. PSD Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh, during a ceremony to hand over the equipment at the Women’s Police Department, said that the equipment are delivered under the framework of cooperation between Jordan and Germany, expressing appreciation of the German government’s support to PSD’ efforts in fighting crime. German Ambassador to Jordan Bernhard Kampmann highlighted the “deep-rooted” bilateral ties, voicing the German government’s keenness to further raise the level of cooperation with the PSD.

Saudi Arabia, UAE bankrolling normalisation agreements Saudi Arabia and the UAE are pumping in huge sums of money in order to finance the normalisation agreements that some Arab countries have recently signed with Tel Aviv, reported Lebanon’s Al Akhbar newspaper. UAE, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco have all established full diplomatic relations with Israel in recent months. Saudi Arabia and the UAE are financing these new agreements”, a Moroccan diplomat told Al Akhbar, under condition of anonymity. The diplomat added that the United States was offering a generous aid package to persuade Arab countries to quickly sign the normation deals, and this will be provided directly by Riyadh and Abu Dhabi, or through participation in investment projects in which Israel plays a direct role, especially in terms of logistical and technical expertise .

Report sheds light on government’s anti-corruption commitments By Bahaa Al Deen Al Nawas - Dec 10,2020 - Last updated at Dec 10,2020 AMMAN Rasheed for Integrity and Transparency (Transparency International - Jordan) on Wednesday published the updated results of monitoring the Jordanian government’s implementation of its 11 commitments at the Anti-Corruption Summit: London 2016. The publishing was in cooperation with Transparency International- UK and the Jordanian Integrity & Anti-corruption Commission (JIACC), with funding from UK aid. Rasheed prepared key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the implementation of each of the assigned commitments based on scientific standards approved by Transparency International-UK.  The JIACC distributed the KPIs on the concerned entities.
