A red flag warning of severe wildfire threat took effect at 8 a.m. for the Santa Monica Mountains, Los Angeles County Mountains, the Angeles National Forest, the coastal region stretching into downtown Los Angeles and the Santa Clarita, San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys. The Red Flag Warning is in effect for the Santa Monica Mountains, Los Angeles County Mountains, the Angeles National Forest, the coastal region stretching into downtown Los Angeles and the Santa Clarita, San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys. The National Weather service said that gusty winds of 50-60 mph in the mountains and gusts of up to 55 mph on the coast, combined with low humidity rates, are creating dangerous fire conditions. Relative humidity is expected to drop to around 15 percent by late Wednesday morning, and fall to 3 to 10 percent into Thursday.
