Feds approve request for N.W.T. flood assistance from Canadian Rangers
The federal ministers of defence and public safety made the announcement on Twitter Saturday. In an interview Thursday, N.W.T. MP Michael McLeod said the rangers could alleviate some of the volunteers helping with the flood efforts for Fort Simpson and Jean Marie River.

A man was killed in a shooting at Vancouver International Airport on Sunday, police said, with the suspects still at large after firing at police from their getaway vehicle.
The shooting happened outside the departures terminal at about 3 pm (0800 GMT), Richmond police said on Twitter, adding that there was one male victim .
Police intercepted the getaway vehicle but were shot at by the escaping suspects, though no officers were injured, the tweet continued.
