Synopsis The strong backward-forward linkages of the infrastructure sector are well established. Therefore, investment in infrastructure is quintessential for more rapid and inclusive economic growth, the Economic Survey tabled in Parliament said.
With the unlocking of the economy, construction of roads is expected to return to the high pace attained before COVID-19, it added.

New Delhi (India), January 21 (ANI): The Ministry of CivilAviation (MoCA) on Thursday refuted a news article claiming that the Finance Ministry and NITI Aayog had raised red flags before Adani s clean sweep of six airports as factually incorrect , adding that the bidding process was conducted in a competitive and transparent manner.
According to an official release, a news article dated January 15, 2021, which said that the Ministry of Finance and NITI Aayog had raised objections before Adani s purchase of the airports over the 2019 Public-Private Partnership (PPP) bidding process and the same was ignored by the government.
Project cost, user charges:
Extended operations and maintenance (O&M) period: The railway station will be on a license with concessionaire for 60 years
Additional revenue stream: The station will have pre-determined user charges, similar to airports
About 2.54 lakh square metre of built up area (tentative) has been allowed for commercial development around the station
The redevelopment cost of the station (mandatory cost) including the cost of financing and contingency etc. is Rs. 1642 crore, according to IRSDC
The investment opportunity for the redevelopment is on the DBFOT or design, build, finance, operate, and transfer basis.
New infrastructural facilities:
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Station Terminus is a UNESCO world heritage site and its redevelopment plan involves the integration of various modes to make it a multimodal transport hub.
