Position Summary:
The Public Affairs Officer (PAO) will work as a member of the Public Affairs team to develop effective content for NED’s external communications efforts to reach our diverse audiences. Principal responsibilities include writing, editing, and designing materials that communicate the NED’s mission, explain our programs, and tell the inspiring stories of our grantees and their work to advance democracy in more than 90 countries. This role includes working closely with NED leadership, regional teams, and various initiatives to produce NED’s Annual Report; to lead content production for regular email newsletters, featuring compelling stories to demonstrate NED’s effectiveness and impact; develop storytelling
Western envoys happy with reconstitution of parliament
The embassies of the United States of America and several European countries in Juba have congratulated the government of South Sudan for reconstituting the national legislature, saying it is a vital step to realizing lasting peace in the country.
“The United States, the United Kingdom, Norway, Canada, the European Union, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Sweden congratulate the Government of South Sudan on reconstituting the Transitional National Legislative Assembly (R-TNLA). This is an important action required by the 2018 revitalized peace agreement, and a necessary step toward peace in South Sudan,” a statement by Phil Dimon, the U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Officer said.
After more than 30 years of service in the Tennessee National Guard, Col. Leonard âTreyâ Brannom, a long-time Tullahoma and Murfreesboro resident, retired on May 6.
Brannom, who was the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel where he was responsible for the personnel management of over 10,000 Tennessee National Guardsman, began his career in 1991 as an AH-1 Cobra Helicopter Pilot. Also piloting the UH-1 Huey and UH-60 Blackhawk, he flew more than 1,100 hours in the early part of his career.
Aside from flying, Brannom also served in many key leadership positions to include Assistant Professor of Military Science at Tennessee Technological University and Middle Tennessee State University, Company Commander for a Knoxville Medivac Helicopter unit, Public Affairs Officer, and Deputy Commander for Tullahomaâs 30th Troop Command.

Executive Vice President, Global Communications and Public Affairs, effective May 17, 2021. Meridith will report jointly to William P. Lauder, Executive Chairman, and Fabrizio Freda, President and Chief Executive Officer. She will also join The Estée Lauder Companies Inc.’s (“ELC”) Executive Leadership Team.

Recipients included members of the Embassy’s local community namely residents of Standpipe, the University of the West Indies Guild of Students, Hope Valley Experimental School, and Mona Primary School.
