NSPCC warns parents mental health issues could be missed due to pandemic

THE NSPCC is warning of the long-lasting impact on the future health, wellbeing and life chances of babies born during the pandemic, as parents face heightened stress, social isolation and mental health problems. Today, at its flagship How Safe conference – being held online this year – the charity brought together a panel of guest speakers who discussed mental health in pregnancy and the child’s first year, the impact of the pandemic and its Fight for a Fair Startcampaign which is calling for every family to get the help they need.  Hosted by TV presenter Cherry Healey, the group included presenter and broadcaster Nush Cope, TV presenter, podcaster and host of ‘The Baby Club’ Nigel Clarke, Dr. Brooke Vandermolen and Sally Hogg, Head of Policy and Campaigning at the Parent-Infant Foundation.

Armed robbers kill Nabdam Deputy District Director of NADMO

Graphic Online BY: Vincent Amenuveve 705 The Nabdam Deputy District Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in the Upper East Region, Mr Dominic Kulkong, has been shot dead when a group of three armed men carried a robbery operation at the Pelungu market. The incident occurred on Saturday, February 27, 2021. The Director, 31, had reportedly gone with another person on a motorbike to transact business around a Mobile Money outlet in the area when the incident occurred. The Public Affairs Officer of the Upper East Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr David Fianko-Okyere, who confirmed the incident to Graphic Online at Bolgatanga on Friday, March 5, 2021, said the deceased, together with another man were on a motorbike when one of the suspected robbers ordered them to turn off the motorbike engine and lie on the ground but when the deceased attempted to flee the scene with the motorbike, the robbers shot him dead.

Nabdam NaDMO Deputy Director, Dominic Kulkong killed by armed men at Pelungu market

+ The Deputy Director for the National Disaster Management Organisation (NaDMO) in the Nabdam District has been murdered by three unidentified armed men in the Upper East Region. The gruesome incident is said to have occurred at the Pelungu market on Saturday, February 27. Mr Dominic Kulkong, 31, was shot during a transaction at a Mobile Money outlet in the area. The Public Affairs Officer of the Regional Police Command, Assistant Superintendent, David Fianko-Okyere who gave a confirmation on the murder said the Police received a call reporting a robbery incident at about 7 pm on Saturday. Upon arrival, he indicated that the robbers had escaped and made way with some 10 mobile devices and an amount of GH¢750 after raiding two shops at the Pelungu market.

The new state-of-the-art building likely to be completed within a year will have 1.80 lakh sqft space and will reflect the important relationship the U.S. Government has with Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha - the three States covered by the Consulate in Hyderabad.
