MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) The Georgia Bureau of Investigation always monitors threats and the days leading up to Inauguration Day look no different.
Nelly Miles Public Affairs Director for the GBI tells us how the agency is preparing.
“The Georgia State Patrol is overseeing the efforts to handle the physical security at our Capitol,” Miles said. “We have GBI agents that are on standby and ready to support those needs.”
GBI oversees the Georgia Information and Sharing and Analysis Center. Investigators send a report to GISAC anytime suspicious activity appears.
An analyst then determines what law enforcement agency needs that information. Miles says it’s used in their daily operations but you get to see its effectiveness during times of heightened security.

Kevin Faulconer has shut down his One San Diego charity, widely described by political insiders as a way for lobbyists and other influence seekers to curry the Republican’s favor by making hefty donations. City disclosure records show that the final round of so-called behested contributions to the non-profit came in August with a flurry of cash from developer-related sources and the Sycuan gambling tribe, which owns the U.S. Grant Hotel downtown, among other developments.

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has adopted the campus of the Nduom School of Business and Technology (NSBT) at Ayensudo on the Cape Coast-Takoradi Highway as its satellite campus to enable it to absorb the huge number of fresh students for the new academic year.
The Public Affairs Director of the university, Major Kofi Baah-Bentum (retd), in an interview with the Daily Graphic last Tuesday, explained that the arrangement would ensure that about 800 of the university’s freshmen were accommodated on the NSBT campus.
In all, the university expects about 8,000 freshers this academic year, for which reason it has to effectively manage the numbers.
