Fate of New Mexico parent coordinator bill uncertain SANTA FE – With New Mexico s 2021 legislative session in its final week, a bill that would authorize New Mexico courts to appoint parent coordinators in high-conflict child custody cases appears to have stalled in the committee process. SB 355, authorizing the appointment of parenting coordinators as arms of the court, is sponsored by state Sen. Antoinette Sedillo Lopez, D-Albuquerque. It earned a do pass recommendation on March 10 from the state Senate Health and Public Affairs Committee, but has not yet been scheduled before the Senate Judiciary Committee chaired by state Sen. Joe Cervantes, D-Las Cruces.
