Thank March 27, 2021 The Lakeville Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect of a violent assault that occurred shortly after 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 27 in a wooded area of East Lake Community Park. East Lake Community Park is located at 16700 Pilot Knob Road in Lakeville. The female victim in her 40s was lured to a secluded area of the park by a male who said that he needed help with someone who had fallen. The victim went to help when she was attacked by the suspect. The victim was able to get free from the attacker and ran from the area to get assistance. The victim was taken to Ridges Hospital to be evaluated for her injuries.

Chevron and Second Harvest Distribute Holiday Meals to 600 Families Across Cameron and Calcasieu Parishes

My New Orleans 12/23/2020 LAKE CHARLES, La (press release) – On Dec. 22, Second Harvest Food Bank of Southwest Louisiana distributed holiday staples, such as turkeys, canned goods, vegetables and more, to 600 families in Cameron and Calcasieu Parishes. Chevron contributed $50,000 to the initiative as part of the company’s continued efforts to support residents of Southwest Louisiana, an area that continues to recover from the impacts of Hurricane Laura and other tropical storms. In addition to this food distribution, Second Harvest has already provided more than 3 million meals across Southwest Louisiana, including tens of thousands of prepared meals in the Second Harvest Community Kitchen, to people impacted by this year’s storms.
