Amendments to the Tipped Wage Workers Fairness Amendment Act In 2018, the District of Columbia passed the Tipped Wage Workers Fairness Amendment Act (the Act) with the primary goal to repeal Initiative 77, a referendum aimed at eliminating the availability of the “tip credit” in the District.  While preserving the use of the tip credit in the District, the Act also imposes significant obligations on employers that employ tipped employees such as requiring the use of a third-party payroll service to process payroll and requiring wage statements itemizing the tips received by employees.  The law also imposes significant training and notice requirements on

Breaking News | Senate Laments As Over 9 Exotic Vehicles Are Carted Away By Retired Ministry Of Health Officials

Views: Visits 43 The upper chamber of the National Assembly has lamented as nine exotic vehicles belonging to the Ministry of Health were taken away by some former officials of as they were retiring from service with the ministry. The lawmakers also found out that officials of the Ministry mismanaged N559 million generated from sales of 681,487 units of International Certificate of vaccination (Yellow Card)  to the public. This alarm was raised by the Senate Committee on Public Accounts led by Senator Matthew Urhoghide. The allegations levelled on the ex-civil servants, referenced a query that was sent before the House by the Office of the Auditor-General of the Federation in a 2015 report.
