Pa. legislative redistricting commission sets out to find a chairman

Pennsylvania legislative leaders began interviews on Monday with 37 candidates interested in filling the fifth seat on the five-member commission charged with drawing state legislative district boundaries.
The public interviews with the candidates are part of the legislative leaders’ stated commitment of opening up what has typically been a closed-door process. According to Common Cause Pennsylvania, it is the first time in the commission’s history that this kind of transparency has been provided.
The interviews are expected to continue on Tuesday with a deadline for making a decision by Friday.
