AB-PMJAY SEHAT scheme a game changer in health care services of Jammu and Kashmir

Share Jammu: In what could be the game changer for the development of health care services in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, more than 22000 free and cashless treatments have been provided to eligible beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) SEHAT scheme in the first two months. The scheme was launched by Prime Minister on 26th December 2020 and it aims to provide Universal Health Insurance Coverage of Rs. 5.00 lakh per family on a floater basis in convergence with central government’s Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). Since the launch of the scheme, more than 30 Lakh residents of Jammu and Kashmir have already registered under the scheme, covering about 56% of the families. National Health Authority signs MoU with Common Service Centre to issue new PVC Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY Cards to beneficiaries for free

Share Mumbai: The National Health Authority (NHA) today signed an MoU with Common Service Centres (CSCs) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to generate new PVC beneficiary cards called “Ayushman cards” under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and further streamline and ease the process of service delivery under the scheme. Eligible beneficiaries will now be able to get their Ayushman cards issued free of cost (at no charge to the beneficiary) and will no longer be required to pay the nominal fee of Rs. 30 per card that they had to pay until now to the Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) field level operators under the Common Service Centres (CSC) across the country. Ayushman cards generated at any of the PM-JAY empanelled hospitals, however, were issued for free and will continue to be issued free of charge. SEHAT scheme: 10L golden cards, 10K treatments in first 40 days in J&K JAMMU: The J&K government on Friday said that at least 10.77 lakh golden cards and 10,000 treatments have been done in the region in the first 40 days after the launch of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) SEHAT scheme. The scheme was e-launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 26, 2020. Since the roll out of the scheme, 10,000 free and cashless treatments worth Rs 7.21 crore have been provided to the eligible beneficiaries under the scheme, in the first 40 days. Besides, 10.77 lakh golden cards have been issued in addition to 12.90 lakh golden cards issued under the AB-PMJAY SEHAT scheme.
