The Department of Health (DoH) on Friday said the case fatality rate in Metro Manila is almost 1.5% during the past two weeks, lower than the 5.36% reported by the OCTA Research Team on Wednesday.
Health Undersecretary Rosario S. Vergeire, in a virtual briefing, said, “As of April 15, our case fatality rate in NCR (National Capital Region) is 1.46%. We compute the case fatality rate based on the number of deaths from this specific disease, which is the COVID-19, over the number of confirmed cases.”

The facility, done in partnership between the City of Manila and SM Foundation, Inc., is fully equipped with amenities and medicine that can be used to address the various health concerns of residents.
A wellness center for the elderly, a playroom, a pharmacy, a breastfeeding area, specialty clinics, a frontliners’ lounge and pantry, physicians’ rooms, and midwives’ rooms are some of the areas seen in the health facility.

The Tondo Foreshore Health Centre and Lying-in Clinic was also opened to the public on Thursday.
In a taped message shown during the turnover ceremony, SM Foundation, Inc. Executive Director Connie Angeles said the new facility can help “decongest hospitals” of non-coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19)-related cases.
