GEORGIA Georgia residents are beginning to receive the latest round of stimulus payments, and there s an easy way to check if yours has been sent to you.
The Internal Revenue Service and Treasury Department announced Dec. 29 that they would begin delivering a second round of Economic Impact Payments as part of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021.
The IRS said that direct deposit payments would begin at the end of December, and paper checks were to be mailed Wednesday.

Charlene Dame, an Evansville tax preparer, said there s a lot of confusion surrounding the rollout of the second round of stimulus. Most of my phone calls this whole week have been about the stimulus check and some kind of confusion about it, Dame said.
The biggest issue she s seeing is with those who selected to receive their tax refund as a bank product.
When a client chooses this option, the bank creates a temporary account for the client. At the start of the New Year, many banks closed those temporary accounts so when the IRS sent out the stimulus, that money went to closed accounts.
