The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Kola Ologbondiyan, has stated that the PDP will not succumb to blackmail and intimidation, following the invitation from the Economic Financial Crimes Commission to explain how N10bn was allegedly diverted.
The EFCC is reported to have invited senior officials of the PDP following an allegation leveled against the PDP leadership by Kassim Afegbua, a chieftain of the party, concerning transactions related to party affairs.
The PUNCH had earlier reported that the PDP National Youths Frontier slammed the EFCC for inviting the party’s officials, stating that only the Independent National Electoral Commission has the legal right to probe a political party’s finances.

Mr. Magu to request the Panel to summon the
AGF to prove the allegations. After some reluctance, the Panel issued a subpoena on the
AGF to testify at the Panel, but the
AGF, blatantly ignored the summons. In the absence of the vital evidence of the

Magu and therefore, their evidence will, most likely, be tainted. Expectedly, the witnesses were reported to have given evidence against Mr. Magu. Although, the law is trite that evidence which ought to be given but is not given will be presumed to be against the person who refused to give such evidence if given. See
The All Progressives Congress (APC), on Tuesday, came down hard on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) over its comments on the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) probe.
The NPA is enmeshed in a scandal involving alleged infractions including a controversial contract award and non-remittance of funds.
Following her sack, the PDP demanded that Usman and Rotimi Amaechi, Transport Minister, who supervises the NPA be handed over to the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for prosecution.
In a statement on Tuesday, John Akpan Udoedehe, APC National Secretary called the statement “nonsensical”, claiming the ruling party is not corrupt.
He called the NPA investigation “routine administrative inquiry”, and lambasted the PDP for dragging Amaechi’s wife, Judith, into the alleged looting in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
