Analysts yesterday backed the views of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, that the country may record significant strides within the next three years in current efforts to reposition the agricultural sector for greater growth.
Emefiele, had during the recent inauguration of the maiden integrated farm estate established by the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) in Daura, Katsina State, expressed optisimism that the combined efforts of the apex bank and the authority in making land and credit available to farmers will further add to the gains so far recorded through the bank’s intervention support in the sector.

Beneficiaries to receive grant for non-oil exports Nigeria to leverage ECOWAS TPOs to boost trade volume
With the official launch of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Trade Promotion Organisations (TPO) Network as part of measures to increase the volume of trade within the region, the Federal Government plans to boost its non-oil exports by leveraging the platform.
The Executive Director /CEO of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, NEPC, Segun Awolowo, who is also the inaugural president of the ECOWAS TPOs, said the government is repositioning the nation’s export through the implementation of its N50 billion Export Expansion Facility Programme (EEFP), a part of the Economic Sustainability Plan whose development and implementation is being led by the Vice President.
