WARE The state has approved the town’s application to create a Vacant Storefront District, which will offer tax incentives for filling 23 vacant storefronts downtown.
Ware’s application says 17 of the 23 business properties have been vacant for more than 12 months.
Some on the list, such as the row of buildings stretching from 92-114 Main St., were condemned years ago. The Selectboard earlier this year ordered the demolition of 112-114 Main St. block.
