Jo-Ann Gustafson of Jaffrey knows there are people out there who need more help than her family does.
The last time Gustafson used a food pantry was before the COVID-19 pandemic began. But by mid-February, she found herself in a situation where she felt the need to ask for help.
Both Gustafson and her granddaughter, who she and her husband are raising, contracted COVID-19 and were forced to quarantine for two weeks.
“It’s been a rough road,” Gustafson said. So she connected with Mandy Carter, Community Resource Specialist/Kinship Navigator at The River Center. Carter began delivering food to the Gustafsons from the Community Meals To Go program on Tuesday and Thursday nights and as Gustafson put it, “it made a huge impact.”

IDAHO FALLS The City of Idaho Falls, in partnership with Regional Economic Development for Eastern Idaho (REDI), has been awarded an economic development grant from Battelle Energy Alliance, operator of Idaho National Laboratory (INL), to begin conceptual development of an innovative new project called the Idaho Falls Innovation District.
“There are less than a handful of innovation districts in this country that converge on science and cutting edge research,” said Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper. “I expect some very big things will happen here in the future and it’s thrilling to know that the city will have played a significant role in helping to launch this kind of creative space right here in Idaho Falls.”

After its Jan. 28 work session on the marijuana application and its associated point system, the Town of Cedaredge Board of Trustees met again on Thursday, Feb. 4, to further fine tune the regulations on that process, as well as code for marijuana in general.
As previously indicated at the last January meeting, redundant items that repeated town code and state law were removed. Other items on the point system were tweaked as well.
Firstly, as far as significant alterations go, on Item J under the general license requirements, the board removed language regarding the need for designated RV parking, as redundant town code would push retailers into providing that parking in order for RVs not to be parked along the street. Therefore, instead of being worded as a special requirement for off-street parking for marijuana businesses, the ordinance will just refer to the town code, which has the regulation for all businesses.
