Laura Lewis Marchino, Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado executive director, has been elected chair of the Economic Development Council of Colorado board of directors.
Marchino, who has served on the EDCC board since 2015, was approved at the December meeting. The EDCC is a statewide association that works to strengthen Colorado’s economy through the training of economic development professionals, local and state leaders and advocating public policies that enhance economic opportunity.

Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado awarded Teri Simmons, senior vice president of commercial lending with Bank of Colorado, with their annual Lender of the Year Award.
Simmons was recognized for her leadership, support and collaboration with Region 9 that helped secure loans for three clients that resulted in Region 9 loans, including the largest loan closed in FYE 2020. Simmons is a former president of the Durango High Noon Rotary, member of the Professional Women’s Network and lives in Montezuma County.
