Adequate reimbursement for molecular diagnostic tests can improve patient care
The Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP), the premier global, molecular diagnostic professional society, today released the results of its qualitative and quantitative Analysis of Professional Work Effort in Molecular Test Interpretation Report.
More than 100 molecular professionals from the AMP and American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG) communities reported that their efforts spent on data analysis, interpretation, and reporting for molecular diagnostic tests were not sufficiently reimbursed.
Respondents indicated that adequate reimbursement for these activities would improve patient care by increasing access to these essential medical services and enabling more data-driven treatment decisions.

Manufacturing transformation hinges on strong supply chains, say experts
China s goal of strengthening industrial and supply chains during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) will help drive high-quality development of the manufacturing sector and nurture strategic, emerging industries, experts said on Monday.
The comments came after China said it will make efforts to boost its industrial foundation, modernize the industrial chain, and stabilize the proportion of the manufacturing industry (in GDP), according to the outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan for national economic and social development and the long-range objectives through the year 2035.

Israel will start requiring the use of so-called door-logic systems to prevent parents from forgetting young children in the backseats of cars during the hot summer months.
Starting August 1, parents of children up to age four will be required to install a back seat alarm system as part of new regulations approved by the Knesset Economic Affairs Committee last week. Parents will have to pay for the system’s purchase and installation, which could cost several hundred shekels per child.
The controversial decision has already raised a public debate and objections. One major problem is that it’s doubtful that existing technologies are effective, reliable and precise enough to substantially reduce the serious phenomenon.
