Lawmaker enraged by hedonistic farms, chalets
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 31: Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) released a document entitled, “Our Nation is in Danger,” in which it recommended various economic solutions although this is not part of its duties, says Chairman of parliamentary Financial and Economic Affairs Committee MP Ahmed Al-Hamad.
He pointed out that addressing economic issues is under the jurisdiction of the National Assembly through the ratification of laws which are then implemented by the executive authority. He said the KCCI’s document contains unacceptable recommendations, such as amending the regulations on granting subsidies and imposing tax gradually. In another development, MP Fayez Al-Jomhour called on Minister of Interior Sheikh Thamer Ali Al-Sabah to prevent immoral activities as they contravene the religion and traditions of Kuwait.

China s efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions can work in concert with its campaigns to control air pollution as a great proportion of the main greenhouse gas and air pollutants come from the same sources, according to experts and observers.
This synergy could play a major role in achieving climate targets, they said, adding that China needs to explore viable market mechanisms that incorporate the costs of carbon emissions into companies operations because many lack motivation to improve their efforts on climate action.

During Tuesday’s meeting of the Economic Affairs Committee on the dire state of domestic tourism while the state is allowing people to travel abroad, Committee Chairman MK Rabbi Yaakov Margi (Shas) said, “It’s absurd that the hotels are deserted while 50,000 Israelis are vacationing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He who [permitted] tens of thousands of tourists to visit a cluster of hotels in Dubai could have allowed himself to prepare an outline for opening a number of hotels in Israel.

The Economic Affairs Committee, chaired by MK Rabbi Yaakov Margi (Shas), approved on Monday the Tourism Services Regulations that pertain to tour guides. The regulations were submitted by the Tourism Ministry in order to assist tour guides, who have suffered financially due to the corona pandemic.
Keren Goldman, head of the Tourism Ministry’s Vocational Tourism Training Division, explained that tour guides are currently obligated to renew their license every two years, at a cost of NIS 263, and take part in two training programs that cost NIS 80-200 each. According to the proposal, tour guides will not pay the fee in 2021 and their licenses will be extended automatically. In 2022 they will pay half the license renewal fee. Training courses for 2019-2020 will be completed in 2021.
