13 May 2021 – In early 2003, landmark litigation was brought by the Treatment Action Campaign against the government. The TAC confronted the government for not providing proven and cost effective medicines for prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV to pregnant mothers. It won the court case on the basis of the constitutional guarantee of the right to health care, and the government was ordered to start programmes for prevention of mother-to-child-transmission of HIV in public health facilities.

It’s “Community Clean-Up Week” in Rapid City. Samantha Chadwell spoke with Jancie Knight from the Rapid City Solid Waste Division on NewsCenter1 Today about all the different things the community can take part in this week and the purpose behind this annual event.
RAPID CITY, S.D. – The City’s annual Clean-up Week is scheduled for Monday through Saturday, April 19-24. There are a lot of things that residents can take part in this week:

WILTON A public hearing will be held this month on the town’s proposed eight-year deal with a new trash hauling company.
The proposed switch to Housatonic Resources Recovery Authority to handle the town’s waste management services through 2029 is estimated to save upwards of $100,000 annually, according to Director of the Department of Public Works Chris Burney and First Selectwoman Lynne Vanderslice.

While cycling for exercise every early morning, Nguyen Thi Hong Van often passes a market to collect leftover fruits and vegetables.
Nguyen Thi Hong Van puts leftover fruits and vegetables into a bucket of water mixed with sugar in order to make detergent liquid.
The rotten fruits are used to make compost and dish-washing liquid by Van, who lives in Thanh Dong Hamlet, Cam Thanh Commune in Hoi An City.
By using biodegradable waste from her house and neighbouring areas, she takes advantage of organic waste to make useful products for the garden and kitchen.
