Scientists are studying the migration patterns of this Florida sportfish to protect its habitat
In February, Duke Energy and University of Florida teammates caught and tagged 20 redfish at Duke Energy s Crystal River Energy Complex, where Charlie Martin will monitor how the fish move in the power plant s discharge canal as part of a new study with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
The team installed three acoustic receivers in the canal and tagged each of the fish so that their movements are recorded when they pass the receivers.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., March 9, 2021 /3BL Media/ – Improving soil health can help farmers build drought resilience, increase nutrient availability, suppress diseases, reduce erosion and nutrient losses, and increase economic benefits according to recent Soil Health Institute research. “In addition to benefiting farmers and their land, many soil health management systems also benefit the broader environment by storing soil carbon, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and improving water quality,” says Dr. Wayne Honeycutt, President and CEO, Soil Health Institute (SHI). “However, investing in soil health is also a business decision, and information regarding the economic benefits of adopting soil health practices was limited until

Shake Shack recently announced the introduction of sustainable AirCarbon cutlery and straws from Restore Foodware at select Shake Shack locations in the US. The straws and cutlery will be available across all guest ordering services including walk-up window, drive-up window, curbside pickup, in-Shack pickup shelves, and delivery.
Shake Shack is introducing AirCarbon cutlery and straws at select locations by joining forces with Restore Foodware. The company launched the world’s first natural and regenerative foodware made from AirCarbon in late 2020, a biomaterial certified carbon-negative by SCS Global Services and Carbon Trust, showing it reduces the amount of carbon in the air through production. As a natural material, AirCarbon contains no synthetic plastics, PLA or synthetic glues, requires no food crops for production and is home compostable, soil degradable, and ocean-friendly, degrading naturally if it ends up in the environment. Presently, it is near impossible to accurately estimate the number of products traded across global markets, and even more so to understand how many of them have unique identifiers and find each product’s history and associated details. Data inconsistencies lead to costly workarounds and manual alternations. For businesses, this can be harmful to operations and complicate supply chains. And for consumers, this lack of clarity can lead to a reduced or total lack of trust.
For us as a wholesaler, consumer trust is everything and it has become increasingly relevant in recent years, a shift heightened even further by the global COVID-19 pandemic, with trends in society and digital media leading to an increased demand for transparency. To bridge those challenges, we have been working intensively on a series of global projects for the past two years with GS1 and other members of The Consumer Goods Forum behind the Product Data Coalition.
