ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) while terming the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) as ‘Banarsi Thugs’ has said the PPP Chairman Bilawal Zardari was even oblivious to his party position in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry Sunday reminded Bilawal that only eight candidates were contesting the upcoming elections of AJK Legislative Assembly on the PPP ticket. In a tweet, he said the speech of Bilawal Zardari has clearly revealed the reality that he (Bilawal) does not know about his party’s position in AJK. He recalled that Bilawal and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) Vice President Maryam Nawaz had run their respective parties’ election campaigns crazily in the last elections of Gilgit-Baltistan. However, it was revealed subsequently that not even one third among the total aspirants were contesting the elections on the tickets of both the PPP and PMLN at that time.

Police refuses to arrest MPA Nazir Chohan despite registration of FIR ‘Police says no action will be taken against Jehangir Tareen’s supporter without Punjab Assembly speaker’s permission

Police on Sunday refused to take PTI MPA Nazir Chohan into custody as he reached Lahore’s Race Course Police Station to surrender.
On Saturday, Chohan went to the in-charge investigation of the police station and asked him for his arrest. However, the police official said that he would only take any action in the case after getting permission from the Punjab Assembly speaker.
Speaking to reporters later, Chohan reiterated that he stands by his stance against Shahzad Akbar, adding that he wants to state some facts to the nation as well as Prime Minister Imran Khan. “Shahzad Akbar is playing a leading role in the party and our friends should consider the hereafter and should not support him [Shahzad Akbar],” he added.
