Singapore further tightened its COVID-19 measures as it seeks to control an increase in untraceable coronavirus infections in the city-state. From Sunday until June 13, gatherings will be limited to two people, and restaurants can only provide delivery or takeout services. Companies will have to make working from home the default for employees who are able to do so. A pattern of local unlinked community cases has emerged and is persisting, Singapore s Ministry of Health said in a statement Friday. This is worrying as it suggests that there may be unknown cases in the community with possible ongoing community transmission and that our earlier and ongoing measures to break the chains of transmissions may be insufficient.
The Singapore government said it s very likely that the travel bubble with Hong Kong will not begin on May 26 as planned. It comes as the Southeast Asian country further tightened measures to curb rising local Covid cases, including stopping all dine-in services and capping public gatherings to two.

. It has faced multiple delays from its initial launch date on November 2020 as Hong Kong reported resurgence in Covid-19 cases.
Both Singapore and Hong Kong are major Asian business hubs without domestic air travel markets. Their tourism and aviation industries, heavily reliant on international travel, have been badly hit by the pandemic.

SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): Nine contracts worth about RM1 billion (S$321 million) have been awarded for system works for the Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, said the rail link s operator RTS Operations (RTSO).
In an update on Wednesday (May 12), the operator, a joint venture between Singapore rail operator SMRT and Malaysian public transport firm Prasarana, said these system works are progressing well .
It did not specify when these contracts were awarded.
Four of the contracts were for core systems, with Chinese firm CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive taking charge of the rail link’s rolling stock and the Malaysia and Singapore subsidiaries of Siemens Mobility handling the signalling system and platform screen doors.

SINGAPORE, May 10 Basement 2 of Changi Airport Terminal 3 will be closed to the public temporarily from Monday (May 10), as the airport steps up measures following the discovery of eight Covid-19 cases at the airport in recent days.
Meanwhile, all workers in Terminals 1 and 3, as well as in Jewel Changi Airport, will undergo a mandatory Covid-19 test starting May 9, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and Changi Airport Group (CAG) said in a press release on Sunday.
