Brimbank council is concerned the Sunshine Super Transport Hub has been overlooked in the designs for Melbourne Airport Rail.
The state and federal government last week revealed concept plans for a new bridge over the Maribyrnong River and elevated twin tracks between Sunshine and the Albion Junction.
The new bridge will be 550 metres long, 50 metres high and built alongside the existing heritage-listed rail bridge over the Maribyrnong River.
Between Sunshine and the Albion Junction, airport trains will gradually rise to travel on new elevated twin tracks for less than two kilometres, before descending and continuing at ground level alongside the existing freight line.

The state government has not ruled out heading to court to fight home owners who believe they are owed compensation for West Gate Tunnel works deep below their homes.
Seventy-four property owners represented by Slater & Gordon want compensation for land acquired below ground as part of the $6.7 billion toll road which will connect the West Gate Freeway in Spotswood and CityLink in Docklands.

Transport Infrastructure Minister Jacinta Allan on Tuesday said all the land was 15 metres or more below ground, but claims would be determined on a case-by-case basis.
“It’s hard to predict what will happen as we work through these things on a case-by-case basis, other than to say we will work very carefully with each of the landowners,” Ms Allan said.

The Andrews governmentâs flagship Suburban Rail Loop project will not be a continuous line connecting Melbourneâs western and south-eastern suburbs, with commuters forced to change trains at least once to complete the 90-kilometre journey.
Transport Infrastructure Minister Jacinta Allan confirmed on Monday the new Melbourne Airport station would feature an interchange and indicated passengers could also be required to change trains at other stations.

The Victorian government has pledged every frontline hotel quarantine worker will be vaccinated by the time international flights to Melbourne restart this week.
The 24-case outbreak triggered the state s five-day, circuit-breaker lockdown and led to the suspension of international flights.
