Whitehaven parking restrictions to be relaxed for delivery vehicles

Whitehaven town centre businesses can now access a free permit to assist with loading and unloading stock outside their premises.
Cumbria County Council and Copeland Borough Council have introduced a temporary parking relaxation to assist businesses that are planning to reopen from Monday, April 12.
Businesses that do not have designated loading bays will be permitted to allow loading/unloading vehicles to park on-street for a 20-minute period.
Firms are invited to apply for the permit from today, and their personalised permit will be delivered next week.
A spokesman for Cumbria County Council said: âCumbria County Council is pleased that collaborative partnership working with Copeland Borough Council has developed this scheme.
