Elma Cavalida, 49, who worked at the Harrow hospital since arriving to the UK in 2010, died on April 26 after contracting Covid-19. She was admitted to Barnet General Hospital on April 8 after her symptoms began to flare up; her husband called her a “true fighter”. Belly Mujinga, 47, a railway ticket office worker died in April of coronavirus. Ms Mujinga, a mother to 11-year-old Ingrid, was admitted to Barnet Hospital and put on a ventilator but died on April 5, her trade union, the Transport Salaried Staffs Association, said.

Union cash paid for Lloyd Russel-Moyle s trip to Syria

A LABOUR MP received £3,212 to pay for a trip to Iraq and Syria last year, it has been revealed. Brighton Kemptown representative Lloyd Russell-Moyle made a four-day visit from September 15 to September 19 “to assess the current security situation in the Democratic Federation of Northern Syria and to discuss the situation with members of the Kurdistan Regional Government”. A donation of £3,212 was made by Unite the Union to pay for travel and accommodation, according to The Register of Members’ Financial Interests. The MP also received almost £10,000 in donations from organisations over the course of 2020. In January, the Labour MP received donations from the Transport Salaried Staffs Association, the Fire Brigades Union and the RMT, totalling £6,000.
