Stroudsburg hoping for cold, snowy winter as ice rink comes out of storage The ski slopes in the Poconos aren’t the only ones praying for a cold, snowy winter this season, given the exceptionally mild temperatures last year that turned ice rinks into ice water. In Stroudsburg, officials are pulling its ice rink out of storage and moving it to a new location across the street from where it was setup last year adjacent to the Monroe County Courthouse. This year the rink is going up at by the Quaker Alley pocket park because last year’s spot is needed to install underground cables for the expansion of the courthouse.
