Photo: ICApple Inc s supply chain is facing increasing uncertainty, as more factories of the US tech giant s suppliers have halted operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Analysts said that the company s already tight supply could take a hit if production disruptions were to last. After disruptions to factory operations of Foxconn Technology Group - a major Apple supplier - in India, factories of Foxconn and another supplier Luxshare Precision Industry suspended work in the northern part of Vietnam amid a COVID-19 surge in the country. 

Foxconn, Fisker announce formal deal, no word on Wis impact

Foxconn Technology Group and Fisker have formally announced their agreement related to building electric vehicles in North America Project PEAR  which stands for Personal Electric Automotive Revolution. “Our partnership with Foxconn and the creation of Project PEAR has taken shape with remarkable speed and clarity of vision,” Fisker chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker said in a joint press release. “In order to deliver on our promise of product breakthroughs from Project PEAR, we needed to rethink every aspect of product development, sourcing, and manufacturing. Our partnership with Foxconn enables us to deliver those industry firsts at a price point that truly opens up electric mobility to the mass market.”   

Stellantis, Foxconn partnership aims to create next-generation cockpit

The companies on Tuesday detailed their nonbinding memorandum of understanding to create the 50-50 joint venture, Mobile Drive. The new entity will help Stellantis guard its stake in the evolving vehicle dashboard. It combines Stellantis’ vehicle design and engineering prowess with the development expertise in the rapidly changing software and hardware of smartphones and consumer electronics of Foxconn, also known as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd.
