Provision of essential commodities at affordable prices govt’s top priority: PM July 27, 2021 Prime Minister Imran Khan has stressed that provision of essential commodities, to the people, at affordable prices is a top priority of the government. The prime minister was chairing a meeting to review prices of essential commodities in Islamabad. Imran Khan directed the provincial chief secretaries to ensure proper legal action against officials showing negligence with regard to ensuring prices of daily use items. He also directed that besides, ensuring suitable prices of daily use items through Competition Commission of Pakistan, extensive action against profiteers and mafia should continue, providing relief to the public.

DawnNewsTV/File ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday urged all provincial governments to ensure stability in the prices of consumer items and take strict action against the officials who failed to control profiteering. Presiding over a meeting to review commodity prices, Mr Khan directed tehsil and district administrations along with the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) to ensure fair prices of food items. “The prime minister directed the provincial chief secretaries to take action against the negligent officers regarding prices,” said a press release issued by the Prime Minister Office (MPO).
