Botswana FA has appointed an experienced woman as CEO/Secretary General
Botswana Football Association has announced the appointment of Mrs. Goabaone Taylor as Chief Executive Officer/Secretary General of the organization. Mrs. Taylor is the first woman to occupy such a position since the inception of the association.
She officially took office on April 5 on a three-year contract as per the release from the BFA President Maclean Letshwiti.
âBuilding on what the BFA has already accomplished, under her leadership, the Association hopes to have its strategic direction grow and develop, as well as strengthen its partnerships and build new relations.â

The Botswana Football Association (BFA) announced today that Mrs. Goabaone G. Taylor has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). An experienced leader, Goaba as she’s affectionately known will assume her responsibilities on April 5, 2021. With more than 18 years of corporate and commercial professional experience backed by a distinguished track record of identifying the uniqueness of brands, accentuating their appeal, taking them to market, and maximizing their value, Goaba brings a unique set of skills, perspectives, and relationships to lead the BFA into the future.
Bringing Japan’s smart water solutions to Botswana
After learning about the water-saving technology from a Japanese company, Kebaletetse Kebaletetse decided to bring the East Asian invention to Botswana.
This resulted in the establishment of Smart Water Solutions in 2019. Located in Fairgrounds in Gaborone, the business has partnered with DG TAKANO, Japan’s market leader in water-saving technology, to bring their Bubble90 Extreme water-saving nozzle to Bots.

DG TAKANO is a Japanese environmental technology company that focuses on creating sustainable solutions to social and environmental problems.
“When I found out about Bubble90, I immediately knew I had to bring this technology to Botswana. We are the world’s 17th most water-scarce country and have major issues with prolonged droughts and desertification, so there is a real need for a product like this. I believe we can make a real difference,” stated the 35-year-old Serowe native.
BUSINESS MINDS: Newman brothers
When the pandemic hit and the government declared a nationwide lockdown last March, innovative twin brothers, Randall and Henry Newman used the time to figure out ways to create a new stream of income for their business.
The Newman twins incorporated Square Eats as a company and created a food delivery application to partner with restaurants to deliver food to customers in lockdown.
“When Covid-19 was declared a pandemic in 2020, we already had a software development company, so we decided the time was right to venture into something else to diversify, hence the food delivery app,” explained Randall.
