Duo remanded for stealing BTC communication cables

REMANDED: Mmui and Mpapi Two young men accused of stealing Botswana Telecommunication Corporation cables were this week remanded in custody by Molepolole Magistrate Kefilwe Resheng. The accused persons Lemogang Kagiso Mpapi,28, from Phaphane ward in Mochudi, Kabelo Mmui aged 24 from Mogoditshane and another not before court on January 21 st, 2021 at Masuaditshwene ward in Molepolole acting jointly stole a black communications cable valued at P220, 100.16 belonging to Botswana Telecommunication Corporation. The accused are said to have sped off  in a Honda Fit vehicle loaded with the stolen cables, after they were found by BTC employees. The BTC employees are said to have then given chase and the suspects abandoned their car and fled, disappearing into the thicket.
