Three arraigned on drug charges When the city police officer approached the 2020 Mazda that he stopped near Park Avenue and Grier Street about 6:20 p.m. Friday, the driver Justin Simmonds “was visibly shaking and taking quick shallow breaths,” according to an affidavit. The officer had already been told by a dispatcher that Simmonds and another person were in a Mazda and reportedly “transporting a large amount of methamphetamines to the 1200 block of Park,” very close to where the vehicle stop took place. While talking, Simmonds, 38, of Tampa Florida, also “stuttered in his speech, showing how nervous he was,” the officer wrote in the court document.

JS man accused of DUI JERSEY SHORE A Jersey Shore man was charged with a DUI on Allegheny Street on Dec. 11 2020, according to Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police. Scott Powell, 56, of 144 Elm St., Jersey Shore, was pulled over by police for allegedly swerving into the opposite lane almost hitting a parked car. According to police, when he was pulled over, there was a strong smell of alcohol coming from the car along with a noticeable empty Coors Light can in the passenger seat and an open 30-pack in the back. Powell performed poorly on two field sobriety tests and refused doing another, according to police. He then allegedly consented to a blood test at Geisinger Hospital in Jersey Shore.

Jersey Shore man charged with DUI Scott Powell, 56, of 414 Elm St., Jersey Shore, allegedly had a BAC of .253% after being pulled over for swerving across lanes of traffic on Allegheny Street Dec. 11 of 2020. Powell allegedly swerved into the opposite lane of traffic and cross the double yellow line on Allegheny Street before it drifted back onto the far-right side of the road before once more swerving into the opposing traffic lane. Powell allegedly swerved across the double yellow line twice and almost hit a parked car, according to Brandy Perchinski, a Tiadaughton Valley Police officer. When Perchinski stopped Powell, she allegedly smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming out of the car. Additionally, an empty Coors Light can sat in the front passenger seat, with an opened 30-pack of Coors Light in the back.

Man found high on K2 amid crying children and unconscious wife Johnathan Pace, 36, of 684 Second Ave., tested positive for allegedly having K2 in his system when police responded to a call from his nine-year-old daughter Dec. 12, police said. According to an affidavit filed by city officer Andrew Stevens, police found Pace conscious alongside his unconscious but breathing wife. Police said Pace had slow and thick speech, that he could not keep his balance and that his pupils were large. Pace was found to have possessed a bag of suspected K2 and rolling papers, and although Pace denied having smoked K2, a urine test given by probation tested positive for K2, according to police.
