JOHOR BAHRU: Johor police this week seized drugs worth RM201 million (US$49.8 million), making it the biggest haul in the history of Malaysia s anti-narcotics department, said the authorities on Sunday (Jan 17).
Officers conducted three raids on Thursday and Friday following investigations into 14 suspects of a drug smuggling and distribution syndicate who were caught in Johor Bahru on Tuesday, said Johor police chief Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.

JOHOR BAHRU (BERNAMA) – Johor police made the biggest drug seizure in the history of the Malaysia’s Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) when they seized drugs worth MYR201 million in three raids around the city on January 14-15. More details in Monday’s Borneo Bulletin.
KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman’s Anti-Money Laundering division has investigated 301 cases since 2019 with assets more than RM1.2bil worth seized and close to half a billion ringgit frozen in the last two years.

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 214 patrons of an entertainment outlet were issued with compounds for breaching the conditional movement control order.
“They did not practise physical distancing in the outlet, which operated on the pretext of being a restaurant and bar, and was playing loud music, ” said Kuala Lumpur deputy CID chief Asst Comm Nasri Mansor.
He said compounds were issued to the patrons, aged between 19 and 38.
“We detained four foreigners during the raid, ” he said when met at the scene in Taman Shamelin Perkasa on Friday night.
