Over the past year, the words “unprecedented times” and “loneliness” have been spoken and written a countless number of times. Our ears have become numb to the noise of the world during this pandemic, and it’s understandable why. Now, it marks over a year that this virus has taken the world by storm. For many of us, this has not only been a year of social distancing and quarantine–it has been a year of not being able to see many of our loved ones and friends. As Christians, however, we are told to rejoice always. If you are like me, you may think it is ironic to be joyful and praising God during times when it seems like the whole world is falling apart. You might be blaming God for things not going according to our plans. For me, it is my college planning process. For my parents, it is the ongoing job insecurity. Perhaps for all of us, it is a continuous struggle to adapt to this “new normal” which seems to be never-ending.
