Stock image: M27 Hampshire Ryan Edward Meadows was stopped driving a BMW 325 on the M27 near Fareham. The 23-year-old of Roundhill Close, Townhill, was charged with driving without insurance and otherwise than in accordance with a licence. Appearing before Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court, he pleaded guilty to the offences which happened on June 19 this year. He was banned from the roads for six months and fined £120. Meadows must pay £85 in costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

Stock image: Train tickets A SOUTHAMPTON man caught without a train ticket has been landed with a bill of more than £400. Michael David Matthews was stopped on a train near Farncombe without a ticket. The 32-year-old of Alma Road was charged with entering a train for the purpose of travelling without having with him a valid ticket entitling him to travel. Portsmouth Magistrates Court proved him guilty of the offence which happened on March 18 this year under the single justice procedure. Matthews was fined £220 and pay £140 in court costs. He must also pay £14.90 in compensations and a £34 victim surcharge.
