Harley Geoffrey Smith spat at a man leaving his victim’s face and chest covered in saliva. The 26-year-old also deliberately closed him in a door at Osborn Road multi-storey car park in Fareham on February 5. He has pleaded guilty to assault, assault by beating and failing without reasonable case to surrendering to custody. Smith, of no fixed address, was remanded into custody at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court. His case has been adjourned until August 23 for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.

Magistrates imposed a two-year community order with a 32-day relationships course, 80 hours unpaid work and 20 days rehabilitation activities.
Ian McDonald, 46, of Southwood Road, Hayling Island, admitted drink-driving in Church Road, Hayling Island, on June 6 last year.
A breath test revealed he had 105 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35.
He admitted failing to turn up at court on April 13.
Magistrates imposed a nine-month community order with six-month alcohol treatment requirement and 15 days rehabilitation activities.
He was banned from driving for 23 months.

Fareham man given domestic violence protection order A MAN has been banned from entering a Southampton road under a domestic violence court order. Zachery Lowe must not go to Glen Road. The 33-year-old of Southampton Road, Southampton has been handed a domestic violence protection order lasting 28-days. During this time he must not contact his female victim either directly or indirectly. He was given the order by Portsmouth Magistrates Court. It also prevents him from intimidating, harassing or pestering the woman in any way. The order lasts until midnight on June 1 this year.

Anthony Carpenter, 28, of Sil Close Road, Shepton Mallet in Somerset, admitted driving while banned in Magdala Road, Cosham, and without insurance, on March 4.
He admitted breaching a community order for two charges of assault by beating and criminal damage.
Magistrates imposed a 12-month community order with 60 hours unpaid work and 30 days rehabilitation activities.
He must pay a £95 surcharge and £85 costs.
Joseph Joyce, 20, of Witts Hill, Southampton, admitted being drunk and disorderly on the A27 at Cams Hill in Portchester on February 23.
He was fined £50 with a £24 surcharge and £85 costs.
Joyce admitted assaulting an emergency worker, a police officer, and was fined £200.
