Groundforce workers are demonstrating today, at the metro station next to the Humberto Delgado airport, in Lisbon, against the delay in the payment of wages in February and cuts in the aviation and ‘handling’ sectors. Promoted by the SOS Handling collective, the protest takes place between noon and 2pm, at the entrance to the Lisbon Metro Airport station. Further action is planned for tomorrow, between 11:30am and 2pm, outside the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing, which oversees the sector.

As of 8 March, the Portuguese Bar Association (OA) will ensure lawyers are available for legal assistance and advice to foreign citizens prevented from entering Portugal at the seven airports of the country.
The OA states that any foreign citizen who is refused entry into the national territory must be informed, in a language that they understand, of the possibility of being able to be assisted by a Portuguese lawyer.
The lawyers will be available in person only at Lisbon Airport and will cover three shifts, beginning at 8am and concluding at 5pm.
Portugal bans UK flights
The Prime Minister announced last night that, as of Saturday, there will be a total ban on flights between Portugal and the United Kingdom, with the exception of those that are of a humanitarian nature to repatriate Portuguese and British citizens.
