Fortnite Bans Glitchy Pay-to-Win Skins
✖
Fortnite developer Epic Games has officially disabled the Boundless Set (commonly referred to as the superhero skins ) in competitive play after an intended fix apparently did not actually fix the problem with them thanks to an exploit. The skins have received numerous complaints about them being pay-to-win skins due to the fact that players could previously use all-black or all-white variants that potentially lowered visibility. In a very real sense, they are currently banned.
But not for long, it seems like. The update noting the ban from competitive play also stated that the Boundless Set will be re-enabled once the problem is resolved in the v15.40 update. Fortnite Offers Refunds for New Terminator Skin
In case you missed it,
Fortnite developer Epic Games released a pair of new Terminator skins, but the company is now offering refunds to those that purchased the T-800 thanks to an unfortunate mistake. The official
Fortnite website had previously indicated that the skin was accompanied by a built-in Cyberdyne Salute emote. That is not the case, however, and could have prompted folks to purchase it for that express purpose. Epic Games has now stated that players will be able to apply for an in-game refund if they so wish. A specific date that players can start to get that refund has not been announced, but it will be available sometime next week.
Epic addresses claim that Fortnite account data is being leaked
Epic Games has released an official statement on claims that
Fortnite account data, namely email addresses, are being leaked. The allegation seemed to kick off with a tweet from pro player Yung Calc, who tweeted a message encouraging players to disable the ‘Show on Career Leaderboard’ setting over concerns that their emails were being leaked.
Yung Calc has since deleted the original tweets after pressure from players and Epic’s official response to the allegation. In a tweet on its
Fortnite Status Twitter account, the company said that it has investigated the potential issue and found that there isn’t one your account data isn’t being leaked.
