Pittsburgh has recently seen an increase in accessibility for non-car transportation with the implementation of additional bike shares, the start of e-scooters, and now, public.
On May 13, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued guidance that fully vaccinated individuals can resume indoor and outdoor activities without wearing a mask or social distancing. However, those traveling planes, trains, buses, and other forms of public transportation still have to wear masks, according to the CDC. And the Port Authority of Allegheny County is reminding Pittsburgh-area riders of these requirements, even for fully vaccinated individuals. “We ve received a few questions about the updated CDC guidelines and wanted to make sure it s absolutely clear for you, for our employees, and for the person sitting next to you: Masks are still required to be worn on public transit vehicles,” tweeted the official Port Authority account on May 13.

Based in the Pittsburgh office, DiGirolamo brings the experience and skill of more than 30 years of working in the fields of construction, geotechnical, site planning, and structural engineering to his role with LDG.
In his career, DiGirolamo has overseen the construction inspection of thousands of public and private projects alike. He served as special inspector for the city of Pittsburgh on numerous projects for landmarks such as the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, the Peterson Events Center and the Pittsburgh Children’s Museum. For the last 15 years, DiGirolamo worked primarily with the state Department of Transportation and helped bring innovative techniques to their processes during his time there. In 2011 and 2012 he piloted the use of iPads on PennDOT construction projects, a case study that ultimately resulted in the use of iPads on all PennDOT project
