Discussions regarding future expansion at New Yorkâs John F. Kennedy International Airport Terminal 4 are taking place but the operator remains tight-lipped on the detail after the suggestion its $3.8 billion terminal redevelopment might not proceed.

STEWART AIRPORT – The executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey predicts airline growth at New York Stewart International Airport post-COVID.
Rick Cotton acknowledges while airlines have tightened their belts since the pandemic struck, they will be critical in their selection of new markets, and he believes the Hudson Valley will be one of them.
“This is a tougher environment for them, but it means they don’t want to miss a cluster of critical mass of travelers who would be interested in buying tickets in some of these secondary routes,” he said.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. The MTA’s Mask Force is now tackling the city’s youngest mass transit riders.
On Monday, the agency’s mask-distributing task force began the distribution of 60,000 child-sized masks during a pop-up event in the Bronx featuring MTA Chairman and CEO Patrick Foye, MTA Chief Accessibility Officer Quemuel Arroyo and a host of volunteers.
The 60,000 child-sized masks set to be distributed to young riders throughout the system were provided by New York State.

NJ Transit is inviting the community to take part in its bus redesign in Newark.
Two public participation sessions are scheduled for April 8, the first starting at 3 p.m., the second at 6 p.m. They will be held virtually on Zoom, or participants can call in. Participants can register at njtransit.com/newbus.
An overview of the project will be presented first, then they will seek input from participants, according to a NJ Transit press release announcing the meetings.
Thirty-eight bus routes in Newark are the focus of the assessment and how to adjust to the current transit market including where people live, where they work, and how they travel to best align service with demand, the statement said.
