The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is now conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the collision of an oil tanker and a bulk carrier off the waters of Cavite City on Wednesday, April 8.
PCG spokesman Commander Armand Balilo said immediately sent their personnel in the area which led to the rescue of the crew of the two ships.

“There was no oil spill, but the collision created some holes on the two ships,” said Balilo.
“We will conduct an investigation. We will just make sure that all crew are safe and accounted for,” he added.

A tanker and a bulk carrier collided in Manila Bay, Philippines on Wednesday causing significant damage to both vessels.
The accident occurred at approximately 9:14 p.m. local time and involved the Panama-flagged tanker Rich Rainbow and the Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier Ivy Alliance.
The manager of the Rich Rainbow, Fuyo Kaiun, confirmed the incident in an emailed statement.
“The incident caused no injuries or pollution. The Rich Rainbow sustained hull damage above the water line and remains in a stable condition. A full assessment will be carried out by Class and the manager is working closely with the Philippine Coast Guard,” the statement said.
