Seniors stake their claims at new archdiocesan housing complex
Frances Fox of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Philadelphia reviews a preliminary application to St. Rita Place, a new affordable senior residence that archdiocesan Catholic Housing and Community Services (CHCS) will open in fall 2021 next to the National Shrine of St. Rita of Cascia in the city s downtown section. CHCS s May 24 sign-ups for St. Rita, which took place at the agency s St. John Neumann II housing complex, drew dozens of interested older adults, many of whom arrived hours ahead of time to secure one of the 46 available spots. STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Staten Island has seen its share of the small screen over the years even if you didn’t always know it.
Many TV and streaming shows have used the borough as a backdrop. While some have referenced Staten Island, others have transformed the Island into unrecognizable spots.

Around 2008, The CW’s
“Gossip Girl” took over the St. George Theatre and a major part of Hyatt Street for filming purposes. According to those who recall the shoot, production crew spent two days taking down the theater’s elaborate Christmas tree and other holiday decorations in December 2008.
