Third-graders in Mrs. Katz’s class selling treats and baked goods to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
PORT WASHINGTON, NEW YORK (MAY 2021) What do you get when you add a teaspoon of kindness, an ounce of respect, and an infinite amount of friendship all together? A bake sale worth celebrating! On Friday, May 21, South Salem third-graders from Mrs. Katz s class whipped up some treats for one of their classmates whose father recently passed away after his battle with cancer. The Port Washington community is exactly that; a community, said Port Washington School District Superintendent Dr. Michael Hynes. The work that our young students have done in support of their classmate speaks volumes to the work we do daily in the district to foster a sense of respect and camaraderie amongst our students.
