A very bad record : Burglar with 51 court appearances for 107 offences is jailed A BURGLAR who stole from two hotels, a nightclub and someone’s home has been jailed. Robbie Lee Lyons committed his crime spree over an 18-day period in March and April of this year.
Bournemouth Crown Court heard Lyons had amassed 51 previous court appearances for 107 offences. His latest offending included his third dwelling burglary, which triggered a mandatory prison term. Sentencing Lyons on June 29, Recorder Michael Bowes QC said: “You have a very bad record indeed. “Fifty-one court appearances, 107 offences, seven non-dwelling burglaries and now your third dwelling burglary, which attracts a minimum term of three years’ imprisonment unless the court finds it would be unjust in the circumstances.”

Thief stole charity collection box in ‘unacceptable’ crime A THIEF who stole a charity collection box and burgled a property in Dorset has been jailed. Dylan Leslie Brewer, aged 39, of Orchard Court in Gillingham, appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday June 18 and pleaded guilty to burglary and theft. He was sentenced to 32 weeks in prison.
A THUG hit another man in the face with a bottle in an unprovoked attack, a court heard. Daniel Joseph Lavery was with friends at the Millennium Green in Bridport at around 12.30am on September 24 last year when he approached the victim and hit him in the face with a bottle. Lavery, aged 39, of South Walk, Bridport, pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm. Prosecuting, Puneet Grewal, told Lavery s sentencing hearing at Bournemouth Crown Court that the defendant admitted to hitting the victim in an unprovoked attack following an altercation. He was arrested and interviewed by police and told officers he was drunk at the time of the attack.
HMRC officers unearthed the fraud A RESTAURATEUR avoided paying more than £100,000 of income tax and VAT in a “classic sales fraud”. Sharif Mohammed Khaled was spared immediate prison for his criminal conduct which was unearthed by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). Khaled, of Penn Hill Avenue, Poole, defrauded £109,000 in his role as the sole director of A.S.A. Restaurateurs Ltd, which was running Indian restaurant Cafe Spice in Sturminster Newton at the time of his offending. Bournemouth Crown Court heard Khaled parted association with the Bridge Street business following his arrest in January 2019 and he has not been involved since.
