Her story is particularly intriguing because – unlike most gear heads and track addicts - she wasn’t drawn to racing in early life. “I’ve definitely not been a car person all my life,  I always liked sports cars, but even now I’m still not a ‘car girl’. I did always want a Porsche 911 though,”  she tells Porsche during an interview.

Robert R Claypool Long-time Los Altos resident Robert R Claypool died from Covid-19 on December 30 th at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Gatos.  He was 93 years old. Bob was born and grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He was a good student who loved learning.  The school principal let him come to school early and use her office to study.  He rode his bicycle to the other side of Milwaukee to visit his aunt and uncle, who taught him his love for classical music.  He graduated early from high school in 1944, in order to join the Naval Air Corps.  He learned to fly in an open cockpit, fabric-covered biplane, and thus began his lifelong love of flying.  Though the war ended before he flew in combat, he always considered himself a Navy man. 

Around Town: Huntington Beach drive-through holiday gift event for the needy

Print The Priority Center of Santa Ana will distribute gifts to some of the neediest Orange County families with a drive-through holiday experience on Saturday in Huntington Beach. The event will take place at the Freddie Georges Production Group HQ, located at 15362 Graham St. It runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. More than 270 families are participating. The Priority Center will distribute nearly $130,000 worth of gifts for children and gift cards for food and other basic necessities during the drive-through event. Families will stay in their cars and wear masks, and gifts and gift cards will be placed in the trunks of their vehicles for contactless delivery.
