National Polio Immunisation Drive 2021 was launched last week
Yavatmal (Maharashtra):
In a case of huge negligence, 12 children were given sanitiser instead of oral polio vaccine in a village in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra, about 700 km from state capital Mumbai, an official said on Monday.
The affected children, all below 5 years of age, were admitted to a government hospital, where their condition is said to be stable, the district official said, adding that three healthcare workers will face action for the lapse.

Amidst launching the biggest vaccination drive against the deadly coronavirus, India is all set to begin its National Polio Immunization drive programme from January 31. The polio drive was earlier scheduled on January 17 but postponed due to the COVID-19 vaccination drive that began on January 16. The programme will be launched by the President Ram Nath Kovind by administering drops to some children at the Rashtrapati Bhawan at 11:45 am.

New Delhi [India], January 14 (ANI): The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has rescheduled the National Polio Immunisation Day to January 31 in view of the COVID-19 vaccination drive scheduled to take place on Saturday. With the countrywide COVID-19 vaccination drive scheduled to be rolled out on January 16, the MoHFW in consultation with the office of President of India has rescheduled the Polio vaccination day to January 31, 2021, the Government of India said on Thursday.
President Ramnath Kovind will launch the Polio National Immunisation Day, also known as Polio Ravivar on January 30, 2021, by administering polio drops to some children at the Rashtrapati Bhawan at 11.45 am, the Ministry said.

In this regard, this is to inform that due to unforeseen activities, it is decided to postpone the scheduled Polio NID round from 17th January 2021till further notice, read the notice issued by Advisor on Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) Pradeep Halder.
