A 33-year-old Brookville man who is an inmate at Jefferson County Jail left his work-release program without authorization Wednesday in Pine Creek Township of Jefferson County at a location along Service Center Road.
State Police in Punxsutawney say he was later found by DuBois City Police Dept. and State Police in DuBois took him into custody.
He was then processed and transported back to Jefferson County Jail.
Charges have been filed.

A 40-year-old Smicksburg man is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop in Punxsutawney Monday.
State Police say they stopped the vehicle on West Mahoning street just before 8 pm after observing traffic violations. The man showed signs of impairment and officers conducted a field sobriety test which lead to a DUI arrest. Officers say an 8-year-old child was a passenger in the vehicle.
Criminal charges are pending.
State Police are investigating a burglary that occurred sometime between Jan. 6 and Jan. 8 on Paradise Road in Henderson Township of Jefferson County.
Officers say someone entered a 48-year-old Stump Creek man’s garage and took more than 150 pounds of copper wire and a metal barrel before fleeing the scene.
Charges have been filed against a Walston man who allegedly grabbed, pushed, and threw a woman during two domestic incidents that occurred last year. .
UPDATE ON PUNXSUTAWNEY SCHOOL BUS ACCIDENT By John Smathers
Details have been released regarding an accident involving a school bus last week.
62-year-old Marylynn Lemmon of Rochester Mills was injured when a Punxsutawney School District bus backed into her vehicle on SR 119.
State Police in Punxsutawney say the crash occurred just before 4 pm on Jan. 5 just north of Juneau Road in North Mahoning Township of Indiana County.
53-year-old Joshua Neidermyer of Mahaffey was driving the bus when he missed a stop. Police say he backed the bus on the roadway, striking Lemmon’s vehicle.
None of the juvenile passengers on the bus were injured.

A DuBois man was arrested after a traffic stop on Harmony Road/Anchor Inn Road in Young Township of Jefferson County on Jan. 8.
State Police in Punxsutawney say the driver was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Charges are pending.
State Police in DuBois are investigating a burglary that occurred on Highland Street Ext. in Brady Township of Clearfield County sometime between Jan. 6 – 7.
Police say someone broke into a barn and took six round hay bales from a DuBois couple.
Indiana Borough Police are investigating an early-morning prowling incident in the 900 block of Water Street.
